The Peypin castle dates back to the 12th century.

Pierre Brémond, lord of Auriol, built the castle and became its lord.
His descendants, the Esparrons, kept the deeds until the beginning of the 15th century.

The ramparts of the castle, in ruins are perched upon a crag.

The Duke of Epernon destroyed the castle at the end of the 14the century.

The Provençale village of Peypin is built around the castle ruins.
These ruins are composed of two rampart walls (97 m), one of which is flanked by 5 round towers and a 4 to 6 metre vaulted hall.
